Anonymous hacktivists are planning another round of live protests as part of their campaign, which aims at raising awareness about the threats posed by surveillance systems on fundamental rights.

We, as Anonymous hacktivists, engaged #OpBigBrother because we want every citizen on the planet to know that the surveillance state is unnecessary to our security as citizens,” the hacktivists said in their latest statement.

We would also like to make the people understand, that systematization of technological surveillance and control on everything is dangerous for the safety of human rights.

They added, “It's time to act, it's time to show the governments of the world, who we are, it's time to show humanity stands as united, it is time to show what freedom means to us.”

Protests have already been announced in cities of South Africa, France, the US, Germany, Brazil, the Netherlands, Sweden, Austria, Portugal, Spain, Turkey and Australia.
